Chatter post

For all your discussion needs.

Ground rules:
- Try to keep it loosely trash party related, or at least Cap fandom related.
- Disagreement is fine, nastiness is not.
- Being offended is not carte blanche for nastiness.
- Trashmeme ground rules apply. Read at your own risk, no romanticizing your noncon garbage, no wank about the moral acceptability of noncon kink.
- Body shots, sniper shots, and tetanus shots are all available at the open bar. Party like it's 2014, kids.

Real Life

I'm guessing many of us have a fascination with power dynamics, so may I ask if any of you act that out in the real world, BDSM or otherwise?

Only online. There's so many lovely young men who like to be degraded and dominated. I'm happy to oblig them.

exactly my response.

I'm way too much of a wienie to do it myself.

Wow, interesting. And how do you do that, is it a chat or via video...?

Sometimes on Twitter, sometimes on Omegle. Both in text and web cam. It's better if I can type because I can write utter filth and I giggle saying it out loud.

That's what I was wondering, because I'd feel exactly the same way. :D

I was wondering that too. Actually my question would be, do you manage to do that with a webcam too, if you don't have a willing partner available? I mean, those aren't so easy to find, while online there's every kind of people willing to try...

Not so much formalized BDSM, but yeah, my sex life (when I have one) tends to incorporate some bondage, pain play, and consensual nonconsent.

I was thoroughly introduced to the scene/lifestyle when I was, uh, 18-ish? and dating this big damn teddybear of a guy who was way into bondage and pretty social about it, so I got to know a pretty colorful mix of practicing kinksters...

It's not really at the top of my Good Sex checklist, so the now-fiance isn't actually that way inclined, but my cuffs and clamps still get some action once in a while if I talk him through it (it helps that I'm 80% sub, the other way around would be harder I imagine).

Very into it in RL even though I don't really participate in a "community" or scenes since I'm going through a period of my life where I don't go places or do things. But it's a general theme of a lot of my fics too and a kink based RPF RPG I'm in.

My RL sex life is about 5000x more vanilla than my fantasies (or my fic), largely because we've tried some of them more hardcore stuff and it freaked me the hell out. But lots of gentle D/s, praise, teasing. That fic by triedunture with the collar and the hairstroking is really my perfect ideal but I haven't got up the nerve to share it with my partner on account of the superhero porn factor.

basically this

Re: Real Life

Nope.

I'm asexual, and all the kinky fun of power dynamics lives in my head; I have no desire to act it out on anybody in any fashion - it doesn't appeal at all. I just want to read about it happening to other (fictional) people!

Everyone else's answer seems to be along the lines of "Yes" or "I'd like to", so I figured I'd offer up an alternative perspective.

This. ^^^

I'm asexual too, and this is exactly where I'm at with kink. Fiction is my scene 'cause it allows me to explore kink/fetish as integrated or abstract concepts without being an active physical participant.

I'm also aromantic, so fiction provides an outlet for that as well. The experience, for me, is a bit like being a strict vegetarian who's happy to serve steak and bacon to their omnivorous friends.

I'm not remotely asexual (my libido can get pretty extreme actually) but I also have no desire to participate in BDSM-type sex irl.

Fantasizing about fictional characters doing it? Absolutely, love it to bits, have gotten off over it more times than I would ever want to count. But I can't even *fantasize* about doing it myself. It's not even that it squicks me - it's like my mind hits a brick wall of utter disinterest. No matter what imaginary scenario I try to put myself into, no matter what role I try out in my head, I feel absolutely nothing.

(Aaaaaand now I'm going to spend the next month trying to figure out *why* that is.)

(Same anon: where by "libido" I mean "desire to fuck other people". I do recognize that asexual people can experience arousal!)
