I don't know if this is the kind of thing that anyone else would be interested in, but here goes!

I'm thinking about a scenario where Steve has some kind of traumatizing incident where Bucky's sexual abuse gets shoved in his face. Maybe he's forced to watch video footage and taunted. Or maybe they rape Bucky in front of him while he's helpless to intervene. Either way, Steve gets truly, super fucked up about this. And, because he's Steve, a) he's terrible at processing the trauma, b) he feels like he's not entitled to his trauma because nothing even happened to him, and c) he wants all the care and energy to go toward Bucky, who's the one who could excusably be in crisis right now.

So basically, give me Steve's honor, stubbornnness, and inability to bleed on people merging into a pure titanium Stiff Upper Lip that keeps his wounds festering and eventually emotionally destroys him. :D

+ I think it would be interesting if either Bucky is so numbed to abuse that he doesn't outwardly display much distress, meaning Steve feels even less entitled to freak out, or alternatively that Bucky actually does spiral into a traumatic catastrophe, so that Steve knows he doesn't deserve to take a moment for his own wellbeing because Bucky's situation is so much more serious
