This is amazing. Seriously this is one of the best things I've ever read on here--when it started out with him realizing that he was "supposed" to be hard I let out a sigh of extreme happiness. All the descriptions of how (from his POV) he's required to perform liking it is just, omg, perfect, and then when it gets to this scene and it's like "why the fuck would Sam and Steve do this if he doesn't like it...oh, right, he's probably given every indication that he really likes it because doing otherwise would be unthinkable to him." It's horrifying.
