Okay, so Bucky Barnes went into war a fit young man who was pretty content with the way he looked. Working for it too, probably. Then HYDRA happened, and when he's got his brain together again he looks nothing like he used to. He's been pumped up like those cheap supermarket chickens, arm ripped off and replaced, memories of that body being used to kill (and other stuff too).

So, when Bucky's free of HYDRA, he doesn't feel like that body is *his*. He probably doesn't even like it much. Maybe he has trouble looking at it, or touching it. Maybe he's ashamed and thinks it looks ridiculous, or maybe there are just too many memories attached. So he washes himself from time to time, but that's bad enough even though he isn't really looking. He's most certainly not doing the shaving routine HYDRA made a fuss about, or anything that's not completely necessary.

Until he suddenly needs to use this body for sex. Up to author if it's with someone he cares about, unable to talk about his problems because NOT BROKEN OKAY, or if he's revictimized by villain of the week. The only thing I want if it's a bad guy: no physical force (maybe blackmail or something), bc I want Bucky to struggle with being an active part of whatever he thinks he's supposed to do.
