I love this S O much. Too bad this is anon, I wish I could post like a reaction video of me reading this on my phone on the bus and straight up gasping in horror and saying "OH NO" out loud while I was reading. It's been a few hours so I forget all my initial reactions but this is just wonderful and you are so brilliant to have Sam figure it out when he can't see "Steve" and he recognizes that this isn't the way Steve walks. AMAZING. I also love "he didn't know how often he needed to cut Steve's nails"--so clever and awful in myriad ways. I'm so proud of Sam. What a badass.
