The shower thing at the end is messing with me. I think it just highlights the continuing difference in perception. Steve went from thinking everything was fine and Bucky was enjoying himself to freaking out and blaming himself for everything he didn't know, see, or do.

Meanwhile, Bucky is so tired of trying to hide his pain when all he wants is to be able to love Steve as easily as Steve loves him without all this baggage, including the physical damage done by HYDRA. He didn't tell Steve because he didn't see the point to both of them being unhappy with their sex life. He doesn't want space from Steve, he wants comfort.

They are still not on the same page.
