Post TWS, Bucky's not worried SHIELD/the Avengers are gonna hurt him -- after all, trash treatment (including everything from whipping to rape) has always been a form of punishment, and he doesn't warrant any. Like, honestly, every military-ish organization has their set of rules, but these are reasonable and easy to learn, and he hasn't made any mistakes since. Steve though, ugh, that little shit. Always out for trouble. Talking back to authorities. Disobeying orders. Never had any proper sense of self preservation.

Then something happens and Steve does actually have a greater fallout with one of their handlers/superiors. He's in trouble, but obviously not in the way Bucky's thinking.

I want everything from Bucky awkwardly trying to comfort Steve before or after the "talk" he's supposed to have, to maybe even trying to take the punishment in Steve's place.
