garbage all the way down ([personal profile] trashmod) wrote in [community profile] hydratrashmeme2014-11-15 10:27 am

Chatter post

For all your discussion needs.

Ground rules:
- Try to keep it loosely trash party related, or at least Cap fandom related.
- Disagreement is fine, nastiness is not.
- Being offended is not carte blanche for nastiness.
- Trashmeme ground rules apply. Read at your own risk, no romanticizing your noncon garbage, no wank about the moral acceptability of noncon kink.
- Body shots, sniper shots, and tetanus shots are all available at the open bar. Party like it's 2014, kids.

Mmh as none of them was in CA:TWS I doubt any real prompts would be allowed (but please, correct me if I'm wrong), but maybe the powers that be will allow us to discuss this here.

In my opinion there must be something more to the Garrett/Ward story than what we've officially seen, because all I got from the show was Garrett breaking Ward out of prison and then dumping him in the wilderness. When he returns, he sends Ward off to the Shield academy and Ward is completely brainwashed into believing Garrett is some kind of God. Their dynamic is so interesting and has so much evil brainfuck potential, but that just didn't explain anything to me.

Probably not allowed, but whose to say we can't petition the mode for a separate post for AoS? We get the tasty Ward-Garrett trash, the people who don't care don't have to say it -- win-win, no?

I'd be all for an adjacent dumpster to keep things organized - personally I'm glad that there's a niche thread just for CA:TWS trash. (As I don't have a TV or access to a fast computer, I have not been able to watch AoS myself. Kinda limits my fandom participation sometimes :(

There was a discussion thread a while back (http://hydratrashmeme.dreamwidth.org/587.html?thread=1136203#cmt1136203) in which AoS was brought up and pretty heavily vetoed, but even though I was one of the people raising concerns about the trashmeme being overrun by Skyeward shippers, I'd be very okay with a separate dumpster (whether a separate prompts posts here or a new forum entirely - Trashmod, your opinion?) for AoS stuff.

As I mentioned in the thread, AoS definitely has trash potential en masse - I've been contemplating writing a double-noncon WS!Bucky/Ward trash show for a prompt here but sadly the OP never got back to me about whether it'd be okay to include Ward. :/

OP here! Seperate dumpster sounds wonderful to me I'd just love to have a community for aos trash, especially because of my intense need for Ward/Garrett trash. So seperate dumpster sounds gr8 and neither garbage community will be overrun with stuff that doesnt belong to their interests. As long as it's definitely garbage and all the passing-off-disgusting-rotten-food-as-romantic-dinner skyeward shippers stay faaar away (I have no problem with skyeward trash but the degree to which some people romanticise this ship even though its canonically super fucked up is disgusting) count me in!!!

I'd definitely be up for a separate post for AoS-related trash. I would really, really appreciate a space for AoS fic that is free from breakers of our golden rule of passing off trash as romantic dinners.

I'm pretty sure Skye just won the Bucky Barnes Thumbs-Up Award for exceptional skill at dealing with trash who think they're being romantic.
