Oh Steve. I don’t think he really wanted to believe that there was still something from HYDRA in Bucky. I think he was hoping that this was just some last behavioral trait remaining, not HYDRA’s programing. Cause, programing aside, Bucky would still be bound to have PTSD or other mental health problems. He just wanted to hold his friend.
And Bucky becoming even more infant like here, losing his ability to make words. Ugh. I love it.
Also “an agitated vigil” is a great line and just perfect imagery.
