Infinite trash pandas at infinite typewriters

Infinity War spoiler post! All Infinity War spoilers go here until May 26th. Spoilers on the main post will be deleted.

[community profile] hydratrashmeme rules still apply, including rules for what is and isn't on-topic. This is a post for Hydra Trash Party prompts that happen to contain Infinity War spoilers. It is not an Infinity War kinkmeme with a dumb, inexplicable rule that you have to come up with some pretext to throw in the word "trash" or your prompt gets frozen. If your prompt needs a token reference to somebody's trash past to qualify as on-topic, it's not on-topic.

Recap for anons who've just joined us: To the extent this kinkmeme has a unifying purpose, it's taking the high-quality whump supplied by Cap: Winter Soldier and dragging it to places that are nasty, filthy, and wrong. It has always been "bad guys doing appalling rapey things to your faves: the kinkmeme." If the kinks are wholesome, if the violence and brainwashing are purely nonsexual, if the fucked-up noncon part is optional or interchangeable with general whump, if the lead characters aren't from the Cap franchise and weren't in TWS, if the prompt could conceivably be filmed and included in a Disney-approved PG-13 Marvel movie... this is not the trashcan you're looking for.

Also not our wheelhouse: mundane AUs, soulbond/omegaverse/D/s-verse AUs, shippy/romanticized noncon, MCU heroes repurposed into OOC or edgydark delivery vehicles for your fave's suffering. Find a different kinkmeme for it, folks. Or start one. I'll link to it.

pre-IW Cap trash

(Anonymous) 2018-05-02 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
So Cap has some issues by the time IW rolls around. Look at him, he's pissed and totally locked down emotionally. He's completely mission-focused. Yeah, the world is ending, but this is Steve Rogers: he has practice at this stoicism thing. CW gave him plenty to be angry about, not to mention the rest of his life, but he's presumably been working for all this time, with half his team, fewer resources (can't trouble T'challa for everything), and under the radar. He looks like he's seen some dark shit.

So, you know, let's make it trashy, Steve-centric shit that he promptly pushes down and does not deal with. Just picks up and keeps going to the next mission to keep fixing the world while he's a fugitive. Maybe a mission (or two) goes bad, or he has to bargain with some unsavory characters in a profoundly dub-con way, or someone goes looking for revenge, or he pulls a take-me-instead in front of his new covert team. Anything.

(I'm also in the camp that would rather be thinking about the fucked up stuff Steve's been through since CW than canon right now.)

It'll be a stretch for Bucky's asshole though.

Yesssss, I am so here for this. Especially the "take me instead" scenario. Especially if Steve still has to lead the team afterwards and salvage the team dynamics from whatever damage this incident has inflicted on their already-traumatic life-or-death bonding as international fugitives. And somehow do both those things even though he's the one at the center of the whole awkward mess. No wonder he doesn't have any room to deal with minor details like his own feelings about being raped in front of the only people in the world he still trusts.

OP here. Oh, anon, yes. That would be perfect and amazing. (Also, there can never be enough Steve-centric take-me-insteads, especially with more varied dynamics, and I can only write so many. Something about Steve, despite all of his power and strength, having to be docile and cooperative, just barely, because there are other people on the line, but simmering under the surface.)

(OP) I was thinking somewhere in the 10-15 inch range? So it’s pretty fuckin’ big, but not like, entirely out of the realms of possibility.

(frozen comment) Bucky/M'Baku, Jabari trash party

(Anonymous) 2018-05-03 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I want M'Baku to blow Bucky's m'back out. (inspired by: https://twitter.com/barnesartboy/status/991435011223048192)

Maybe as a part of his recovery, Bucky visits the Jabari and a trash party ensues? Or maybe some kind of Wakandan war brother bonding ritual? I don't care about the specifics, I just want Bucky getting split open by the Mighty Ape.

Any varied dynamics you're particularly interested in? My brain is already going a zillion directions for aftermath, but I'd love to hear more ideas for the take-me-instead scenario itself. You're right, there can never be enough.

Asking because maybe it's time to enable my future self's poor life decisions... uh... for a friend.

(frozen comment) Bucky/T'Challa, "Every breath you take is mercy from me" (comics crossover)

(Anonymous) 2018-05-04 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
So Bucky's little grimace, quickly controlled, when presented with his metal arm? His quietly accepting where's the fight? Let a hundred trash flowers bloom.

I can't decide whether it's worse (read: better) if that's the first time Bucky learns he's going back into the field, or if it isn't. So let's go with the latter, because I've been reading Ta-Nehisi Coates's wonderful Black Panther comics, which I imagine taking place right after CA:CW, and what I really want is for a recovering Bucky to imprint on T'Challa as a handler, as he does with Steve in so many excellent stories. I have an infinite appetite for every variation of this favorite trash theme—distressing sexual offers from Bucky, gentle or appalled rejection from T'Challa, I love it all. But THEN, as in the comics, the Wakandan state starts to come apart: bandits in the countryside, riots in the mines, terror attacks in the cities. And T'Challa, frightened and furious, convinced that "chaos is the air of this revolt" and vowing to "smother it with order—our order," deploys every weapon at his disposal. Including the Soldier.

Basically I want Bucky just beginning to question his trash expectations and trust the kindness of the king when T'Challa presents him with a new arm and sends him back into battle. I'd love it if Bucky makes some attempt to assert his fledgling sense of autonomy, and T'Challa gives him a version of the "every breath you take is mercy from me" speech he gives to Kwabena Ware in the comics. If Bucky asks "where's the fight" the way he does in Infinity War because it's the only question he's allowed.

I don't want deliberate cruelty or even a failure of empathy from T'Challa, just a fraying security situation, a lot of innocent lives at risk, the kinds of choices and compromises a leader has to make, and possibly (if you agree with the political analysis of renegade Dora Milaje lovers Ayo and Aneka, who get all the best lines in the comics) a pretty flawed system of government. Considering that plan A after the bombing that nearly kills Ramonda is consultation with "the most successful collection of counterrevolutionary minds on the planet," a council of super-villains who advise T'Challa "to break bones on chance, to burn crops on a whim, to lay with the wives of men as he needed" in order to quash the insurgents, deploying the Winter Soldier against the enemies of Wakanda is a comparatively humane tactic. And T'Challa's first duty and highest loyalty must be to his people.

Not OP, but methinks this is less evil good guys and more grey guys in a world of black and grey morality. This is no worse than Nat triggering Bucky to shut him down in various approved prompts or fills. Bucky has a unique skill set, not using it to protect the people could be seen as evil. However ymmv.

NA, not OP

'"to break bones on chance, to burn crops on a whim, to lay with the wives of men as he needed" in order to quash the insurgents, deploying the Winter Soldier against the enemies of Wakanda is a comparatively humane tactic.'

The villain council's ideas were presented as obviously abhorrent by the narrative in the comic, and I think MCU T'Challa -- who clearly stated in Civil War that what was done to Bucky was wrong, and who then put the full weight of the state behind his ongoing protection and recovery -- would consider turning Bucky back into Winter Solider abhorrent as well.

If T'Challa deliberately uses Bucky as Winter Soldier, that pretty clearly crosses the evil!good guy line for me. I would say that's analogous to a Steve Rogers who decides that Project Insight is an acceptable idea given the world's security situation -- for me, that decision would make him evil!Steve. MCU Steve doesn't operate on gray morality, and I don't think T'Challa does either. I would argue that T'Challa's moral compass is much more closely aligned with Steve than with Natasha, who is presented in MCU and 616 as much more of a moral pragmatist.

I'm also not super jazzed about prompts using good!guy Black men characters as rapists or abusers, especially when the purpose is to generate angst for white characters. There's a lot of cultural baggage there, and there's a lot of other available villains.

Remember that Kwabena Ware really did willingly participate in terrorist action against the Wakandan throne, he wasn't just falsely accused of it like Bucky was.

Sure but Nat triggering Bucky with the express purpose of using him as Winter Soldier to advance her own political agenda is different than Nat using trigger words to 'shut him down'

Gimmie Bucky and EVERYONE in hell, reliving each others lives.

Okay too much drama.
Everyone that got dusted winds up in a shared purgatory. When you touch someone (or sleep the same time as them, whatever) you get their defining memories, good and BAD. The highlights reel of the worst and best. Sucks to be those poor bastards that run into Bucky. Or sleeps the same time as him.

Give me anyone dusted reacting to the horrors. Bonuses for normal non super people trying to cope with HTP highlights reel.

Cheers!

Why Steve Has a Beard

(Anonymous) 2018-05-05 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
(This started as a joke but now I actually want it. Going off the assumption that Steve visited Bucky before Infinity War.)

Steve and Bucky are having a long distance relationship between CW and IW. They enjoy getting off together via phone and chat, but when Steve visits Wakanda and they try to have sex in person for the first time since the 40s, things get a little weird. Bucky seems off during sex and the reasons are revealed in one of two ways:

1)Bucky full on starts thinking Steve is someone else and says and does things he wouldn't do with Steve.
2)Bucky is clearly freaked out but trying to hide it. (He thinks he's great at hiding his emotions during sex because he's used to having sex when he's upset and having his partner ignore it.)

During Winter Soldier times, a series of Hydra handlers had "relationships" with Bucky to improve his effectiveness and loyalty. Always confused about his identity and relationships, he'd fall quickly for guys who had a certain combination of mannerisms, personality traits, and sexual tastes (carefully calibrated based on what Bucky responded to, and intentionally or unintentionally resembling Steve). He was protective of them, put aside his discomfort to make them happy, and took their word for it on things he couldn't remember or judge for himself.

Now he's pretty messed up about the whole thing, since it's trippy to look back and realize that you had a lot of relationships and sex with actors pretending to like you and pretending to be your type. He didn't have trouble when he and Steve were flirting over WhatsApp, but bodies are somehow more confusing, and sometimes he just "slips" when they're in bed together, expecting the guy to turn over and be someone else, or even suffering from pathological uncertainty that he can really be sure this is Steve and he's not just confused.

Cue Steve experimenting with drastic changes to his appearance to distinguish himself from the series of Steve imitators.

(Confession: I want to write this myself, but I'd be very happy if someone else wanted to write it too.)

If you have ideas, go for it. Anything would be awesome. (Especially aftermath. That's what I'm most interested in so it's cool that you're all over that.)

As far as varied dynamics go, I think the biggest thing is I'd like to leave Bucky in Wakanda to rest and give him a break. (I love the "Steve and Bucky are in a relationship and then this happens" versions of this, too, but something different would be nice.) I think a take-me-instead-of-Wanda would be really interesting. He's her mentor, he feels protective of her but he's training her to put her in dangerous situations so he's not exactly shielding her from ugly things, and he obviously cares about her a lot. She had a crush on him in the comics, which you could take or leave depending on whether it works for your ideas, I'm honestly fine with however you go about this if you want to give it a shot. Thank you!

Oh, I'm totally here for leaving Bucky out of the action on this one. And I am so here for it being with Wanda. Especially if she has to get into Steve's head while it's happening, to impart information for an escape or something. So even though Steve physically takes the brunt of it, he can't fully protect her from the experience, and they both have to work out how they feel about that.

Peter in the dust realm makes Bucky triggered

(Anonymous) 2018-05-11 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Peter gets raped by something in the dust world. Bucky has flashbacks to comforting and protecting Steve, combined with wish fulfillment wishing someone protected him from HTPs.

How this plays out? Up to filler.

I just want Peter crying and hurt and Bucky with his head a bit scrambled gathering Peter up and helping him with his head all mixed up.

Bonuses for Peter being scared of and for Bucky, because he acts erratically.

Bucky/Rocket, captured and made to perform

(Anonymous) 2018-05-11 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
Thanos or the Black Order capture the good guys after failing to get the stone. The result is a pain that makes them wish they could die. Dont' care who tops but one humiliation is that Rocket and Bucky are forced to do a live show together.

Decayed goldfish bonus;
Red Skull is brought in to take which ever of the chosen couple comes first.
