(Anonymous) 2014-07-08 09:08 am (UTC)(link)I'd love to put the boys through more pain here, but I think to bring this idea to any kind of realistic happier ending would mean a fairly long journey for everyone involved. And that's just not something I'm any good at.
So for now I have no plans to continue, but feel free to imagine Steve wanting to be closer to Bucky but terrified of what touching him might do, and Bucky wondering which of his many sins Steve is so obviously repelled by, and maybe eventually a scene where Steve agrees to help figure out what the trigger is and that just ends up like an awful, awful game of chicken neither of them want to be playing, with Bucky trying to remember exactly what the guy who assaulted him in the club did to him and Steve trying to imitate it even though he feels sick to his stomach because hadn't he been thinking at the time about how he'd wanted to do this to Bucky but not like this, never like this and wow, I am a terrible person.
