Chatter post

For all your discussion needs.

Ground rules:
- Try to keep it loosely trash party related, or at least Cap fandom related.
- Disagreement is fine, nastiness is not.
- Being offended is not carte blanche for nastiness.
- Trashmeme ground rules apply. Read at your own risk, no romanticizing your noncon garbage, no wank about the moral acceptability of noncon kink.
- Body shots, sniper shots, and tetanus shots are all available at the open bar. Party like it's 2014, kids.

I'm sorry, but... no. That's not the way it works. AO3 is for all comers. And the trash party is not and never has been limited to this meme. It started on Tumblr; a lot of it still happens on Tumblr. And a Dreamwidth kinkmeme is not a substitute for a proper archive. The convention has never been "what happens on the trashmeme stays on the trashmeme"; it's "make sure your triggery shit is clearly tagged and labeled," just like it is in the entire rest of fandom. If trashfic triggers you? Don't click. If just seeing the headers triggers you? That sucks, but no, it is in no way our responsibility to sanitize your AO3 browsing experience for you by depriving ourselves of a proper fic archive and exiling ourselves from the common archive space--a space that always has contained and always will contain plenty of fucked-up fic that doesn't fall under the trash party umbrella. If just seeing the headers triggers you, you will get a lot more mileage out of downloading AO3 Savior or sticking -"Rape/Non-Con" in the "search within results" box than from telling one subgroup of the authors writing fucked-up fic to censor themselves and stick to the leper colony.

Seriously, AO3 Savior. If you don't wanna see the headers for certain fic, it is your best friend.
