Or maybe Steve can't bring himself to copy the image over and over, but he's so disturbed that he ends up creating a series of paintings about that drawing, which are vague enough in their interpretation that you couldn't necessarily tell what they're about: paintings with thick red slashes smeared with white; paintings of hands clenched in agony; paintings of that expression on different faces. Or he sketches out fix-it drawings where he's holding Bucky in the cell.

I feel like he would want to crumple it up because he'd feel guilty about somehow co-opting Bucky's experience, but he wouldn't be able to. He'd hide it in a drawer,

I just want this to end in one of them trying to physically adopt the pose, including fake (or real?) blood and come artistically daubed in the right places, and being seen by the other. Bucky because he's seen Steve's drawings? Steve because he cannot let it go?

Oh they should definitely still do the drawing. I'm just thinking that Bucky won't be truly satisfied until they get it to that point of true (and horrible!) realism.

And also I just really want Steve guilt-jerking it over Bucky's blood streaked body, ngl.
