Yep, me too.

There are lots of tropes I don't care about, but this meme turns with, idk, 20 posts a day? It's not like we're literally *spammed* by anything. I'd rather have 15 posts of that being people happily exploring Hydra Husbands or Westfahl's butthole, and in between 5 things I like, than the meme slowly dying out (like so many kinkmemes have, sadly). Because these people might, if they feel welcome here, still prompt something else once in a while, or comment on a fic you've written, or cheer somebody else on. So yeah.

Besides, are all post-CATWS prompts automatically recovery prompts? What about the ones where Bucky needs pain to get off, or roleplays that the WS rapes Steve, ...? What about the one in part two where Bucky gets flashbacks because he's immobilized with a broken leg?

I'm getting the feeling a lot of people who like that feel stepped on their toes, while recovery prompt opponents just don't like woobie Bucky. But Bucky relearning hugs without a trash component is off topic anyway?

So while mod's command is pretty clear to me (don't post another recovery prompt when there have recently been a couple), a lot of points aren't as obvious as some salty tumblr posts make it out to be.

There's plenty of stuff here I'm not that into. Hydra Husbands comes to to mind because it's really popular now - but you know, I really cheer for the people writing it, because they're doing something new and pouring a got of creative energy into it.

Some I've even read and liked because it's just good porn.

I feel like the complaint of woobie!Bucky is over-exaggerated in the kink meme at least (I agree it's more rampant in say Stucky fandom).

Some of the best recovery fills (say like Lamb & Martyr) do not have a woobie Bucky, and even in the ones that show him as dysfunctional and dependent, doesn't mean it's a woobie fic (I swear, the term gets overused as much as Mary Sue now).

DA: I really love the lack of woobie!Bucky here and that's one reason I'd be sad if the pool of HTP aftermath fic & discussion shrank, because I don't know where I would find other post-catws fic I like so much! There's so much recovery fic but a lot of it does not do it for me characterization wise, whereas the characterizations I love are highly concentrated here.

Yeah, me too -- I'd like to have an environment of diverse prompts where people feel welcome to talk about self-amputation or lactation or self-lubricating assholes or whatever, and not feel like their prompt will get ignored unless it's about Bucky's recovering mental health.

On the other hand, it seems like the opposite is happening as the result of the trashmod post, which is that people who like Trash Recovery are feeling shut out. THAT IS SAD, since I think everyone here is ACTUALLY in general agreement re: the spirit of the mod's post, which is "make sure your recovery prompts are still trash-focused", but a number of us are struggling with the actual specifics of the mod's post -- between the mention of woobie, mental health, sexual violence, gray areas, and the 2:1 ratio, it's kind of confusing.

I wish we'd all just go with the spirit of "Trash Recovery, not generic recovery" and keep on enjoying the dumpster, but then again, I'm a "do first, beg for forgiveness later" type of person.

See, I've been feeling shut out because that ISN'T how I took the spirit of the post. I took it as "even if your recovery prompt is trash-focused, please consider not posting it, because there's been too much of that lately and we need to bring the dumpster back to its true purpose, which has nothing to do with aftermath at all." And it's great to say you should just go with the spirit of trash recovery is on topic and run with it, but it's hard to get inspired to participate when you think the mod doesn't want that kind of thing here...

I guess that's where we differ, because from my perspective -- what's going to happen if I post my trashy recovery prompt and the mod doesn't like it? Maybe the mod would ... I dunno -- offer more clarity?!!! I'd rather post and get my post frozen and therefore know where the line is that way, than to stress about posting and end up not posting at all.
