As usual, BLANKET NON-CON AND NSFW WARNINGS apply: just assume going in that everything in this landfill is unfit for human consumption.

::shrug:: I'm also someone who's really not into gaping assholes, but I used it to illustrate the difference in the *focus* of the story.

To use my two examples:

"Bucky has gaping asshole problems and doesn't tell Steve. Eventually Steve finds out and gives him hugs."
-- The focus of this prompt is "Bucky has physical problems that he's struggling with privately and doesn't want to tell Steve. Angst about being a burden, Angst about Hydra leaving its mark on Bucky, etc. Then hugs." In this case, I don't see it as truly mattering to the fic whether said physical problems comes from Hydra rape or just general Hydra evilness -- the focus is that Bucky doesn't want to tell Steve.

"Bucky's gaping asshole problems requires constant buttplug and Steve has to fuck him while wearing a cocksheath. Embarrassing for everyone involved."
-- The focus of this prompt is specifically about coping with the aftermath of rape -- how it affects Bucky's daily life, how it affects his sex life with Steve, how it affects his self-perception. Yes, there's a fair bit of Bucky Angst potential here, same as the previous one, but the sexual violence is front and center.

I do occasional fills and sometimes I want to show it to a non-trash audience, and so I'd go about sanitizing it -- removing mentions of rape and replacing it with mentions of violence. Replacing "being dehumanized through being treated as a sex toy" with "being dehumanized through being treated as a weapon". With some of my fills, it's ridiculously easy to sanitize. With others, the story loses all meaning if I sanitized it. The ones that are ridiculously easy to sanitize probably don't belong on this trashmeme. (Even though I like those more, and I'm frustrated that sexual violence and normal violence are so segregated in general.)

SA - I get what you're saying, and do agree - I just haven't found it as easy to separate in most fills, (though of course there have been some).

I share your frustration about separating sexual and non-sexual violence, so eh.

Agreed that the nuances are hard, and in many fills might be completely indistinguishable. Probably even harder to separate in the prompts themselves (just how much difference is there between "Bucky is sad because he has a gaping asshole" and "Bucky has a gaping asshole and is sad"? Really not much.)

But ... eh. If the trashmeme becomes more exclusively relishing in sexual violence, I'll probably visit only when I'm on a porn kick, and not just when I want good characterization of people coping with bad shit that happens to be sexual. *shrug*
