Oh gosh anon I ship Buckynat super hard!!! Like, my standard ship is actually Buckynat and SamSteve. And it's where I go to for happy sex thoughts. But Bucky and Steve also have this lovely "we've been through everything together" dynamic that makes me gravitate towards mostly-platonic-life-partner stuff for them. (The filthy HTP noncon is a whole 'nother thing altogether. Sigh, sex kink turnons vs. practical relationship stuff.)

I think in the realm of this fic, Sam would be pretty quick to grok that Steve's looking for some casual relaxing sex with someone he enjoys the company of. But I also see Sam as someone who would prefer a stable relationship, as well. (It's just too bad that Steve and Bucky clearly have their thing going.) So I guess Sam might be going on dates of his own? And if he does end up in something monogamous, he'd probably call off whatever he has with Steve. It's frustrating to me that CATWS hasn't really given us enough Sam characterization, but at least fandom is doing due diligence!

You actually sort of managed to capture about what I like about Steve/Bucky. I jst love characters who have history together and they're just well...an extreme case.

It's actually also part of why I like BuckyNat better in the comics, because they DO have history.
