¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sorry, man. What's left in my imagination was about 10 emotionally charged strokes, followed by a lot of hugging and kissing, followed by calling Sam and then the long recovery process. Steve gets to be a Very Good Handler for a while, and also Bucky takes them to lots of HYDRA bases and Steve punches many things.

And eventually when Bucky's sufficiently recovered they have the sex talk and actually manage to have decently kinky, fully consensual sex.

tbh I kinda stopped where I did mostly because I couldn't decide whether Bucky or Steve would get an involuntary hard-on from the whipping or not. (Regardless, the answer would complicate this whole thing too much.) So yeah, just quick "hai plz be my handler, here be some trash presents" fic instead. (Mostly I wanted to imagine the look on Steve's face when Bucky very helpfully gives him the stun baton. :3)

Haha. Well unfortunately I've got non-HYDRA non-trash to finish. But fortunately writing and imagination is available to everyone???

Actually last night I was like "But what if Bucky wanted to have sex with Steve but only associates sex with punishment, so he keeps messing up on missions or pissing Steve off and hoping that Steve'd use the mag cuffs and fuck him?"

This needs to be made into a prompt. Seriously. Do not pass go, do not write anything else. Make this a prompt so I can fill it. Or I'll be that desperate person that does it themself lol

While I am saddened you didn't expand on this scenario for a bajiion more words, I am SO HAPPY that you have left us all these images. Hooray for Steve the Very Good Handler! Hooray for Steve punching things!

Also. Now I have the thought in my head of a children's book titled "Bucky and the So Good, Very Wonderful Handler" in my head. It's grrrrrrreat.

"Bucky and the So Good, Very Wonderful Handler"

Bucky's first handler was mean. He put Bucky in a chair and made Bucky hurt a lot and forget things. Don't be like Bucky's first handler. Don't be mean to other people.

Bucky's second handler not mean, but he did mean things to Bucky just because the rules said so. "But the rules are not right," said Bucky to the handler. But handler said "I don't care as long as I get my reward." Then the handler hurt Bucky a lot and made Bucky hurt other people. Don't be like Bucky's second handler. Don't follow rules that are wrong.

Bucky's third handler enjoyed hurting people. He enjoyed hurting Bucky most of all. That was the worst handler.

"Enough," said Bucky. "These are all bad handlers." Bucky really wanted a handler who cared about Bucky. So Bucky left to find a handler of his own.

Bucky walked and walked and walked. Bucky walked by a river. Bucky walked in a museum. Bucky walked on the roof.

Finally, Bucky found Steve. "Are you my handler?"

"I want to be your friend," said Steve. "Can we be friends instead?"

"But I need a handler," said Bucky. "I need a handler who will take care of me and not be mean."

"I want to be your friend," said Steve. "But I can be your handler if that's what you need."

That's how Bucky knew that Steve would be a good handler: Steve cared about Bucky.

Steve was a good handler. He made sure Bucky ate food at the right time and took care of Bucky's body and mind.

Steve was a very good handler. He didn't like the rules that hurt Bucky so he didn't follow them.

Steve was a very good, wonderful handler. He didn't like hurting other people. Instead, he helped Bucky do things that helped other people.

Bucky was glad he left his old handlers and found such a good new handler.

"Thank you for being my handler, Steve," said Bucky.

"You're welcome, Bucky", said Steve. "Thank you for coming back."

I'm the anon who originally envisioned this as a children's book and YOU ARE AMAZING. Also I'm trying to figure out if I can make this into a pop up book somehow.

yoooo.... I put the draft of the kids book here: http://potofsoup.tumblr.com/post/134235587452/so-this-sort-of-happened-its-currently-just-an (http://potofsoup.tumblr.com/post/134235587452/so-this-sort-of-happened-its-currently-just-an)

Although I think the layout would be rather different if you're doing a pop-up???

Just chiming in to say the fic is great as it is, but THANK YOU for putting that extra image of involuntary hard-ons in my mind. :D

:DDDD

It's like schrodinger's hard-on:

- If Steve gets an involuntary hard-on from whipping Bucky, he'd be so mortified, and wonder if he's actually as bad as HYDRA. Bucky would probably then turn around and start trying to suck Steve's cock, which would make it so much worse.

- If Bucky gets an involuntary hard-on from the whipping, Steve would be horrified by its possible implications -- that HYDRA had conditioned Bucky to such an extent, or that Bucky actually enjoyed the punishment. Bucky would probably just be confused.

- If neither of them gets an involuntary hard-on from the whipping, then it's just horrible pain, awkwardness, and frustration all around. (Because Steve clearly likes feeling proximity to Bucky, but if he's to be a good handler, he really *shouldn't*, it'd be a terrible abuse of power)

unf, yes.

And when he's doe Steve just wants to hold Bucky. But he doesn't know how Bucky will perceive it.

So either he gambles on a hug, risking it's associated with trash, or he'll just sit there awkwardly with Bucky looking curiously at him and saying: "I never had a handler who cried during punishment".
