Also: am now wondering how far Steve's willing to go for the sake of the mission -- witness/partake in Bucky's rape just so that he can maintain the illusion of still being WS? Or would there be a point where he's like "fuckit" and finally start fighting??

This is an excellent question. I think Steve's tolerance for fuckery when it comes to his own suffering is almost unlimited, whereas when other people's pain is involved, he is much less tolerant. Of course, the whole not being in his own body situation makes that a bit more complicated...
