Dumpster #3: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch

Holy shitballs, look at us go. Welcome to Captain America fandom's resident wretched hive of scum and villainy: ROUND THREE. AKA Bad Guys Do Dirtybadwrong Things To Your Faves, AKA the Hydra Trash Party kinkmeme. As usual, BLANKET NON-CON AND NSFW WARNINGS apply: just assume going in that everything in this landfill is unfit for human consumption.

Rules in brief: don't be a jerk except to fictional characters, warnings for particularly fucked-up garbage are nice but not required, thou shalt not judge the trashiness of thy neighbor's kinks unless thy neighbor is trying to pass off their rotting banana peels and half-eaten pizza crusts as a healthy romantic dinner for two, off-topic comments may be chucked out of the dumpster at management's discretion, management's discretion decrees that omegaverse, soulbond AUs, D/s-verse, non-superpowered AUs, and dark!good guys AUs are off-topic.

[Round 1] [Round 2] [Fill post] [Chatter post] [hydratrashmeme Pinboard archive (maintained by [personal profile] greenkirtle)] [Round 3 in flat view (comments in non-threaded chronological order, most recent last)]

Round 3 is closed; comments and fills in existing threads are still welcome, but all new prompts go to Round 4.

Steve is not helpful

In his 70 years with hydra, the agents that Bucky worked with always made sure that he knew how disgusting he is. When they fucked him, it was clear that they were doing him a favor, because nobody else would be willing to touch a scarred, used-up, freak with a metal arm. Understandably, Bucky's self esteem is a bit low after this.

Only thing is, Steve's not really helping. Even though he loves Bucky (in whatever way you want, bromance or romance), he can't get over what he knows has happened to Bucky at hydra's hands. Steve is awesome and progressive sure, but he also grew up in the 40s and thinking about male on male rape, plus how different of a person Bucky is now, plus the metal arm that is like a taunt whenever he sees it (a constant reminder of how he failed Bucky), well. It all makes him a bit uncomfortable.

Basically, the fic where Steve isn't the supportive presence that Bucky needs. He avoids his friend as much as possible, and flinches whenever Bucky touches him with his metal arm. This reinforces everything Bucky's handlers have ever said to him, and he concludes that he is the most disgusting thing ever.

+bonus if Bucky starts self-harming because he hates his body and how "wrong" it is
++ Extreme bonus if he starts hanging out with Thor instead (Thor isn't bothered by his body -- where he comes from scars are something to be proud of because its a sign of battle prowess)
+++ Super mega bonus if someone (could be Thor or anyone else) realizes what's going on, smacks Steve on the back of the head and tells him he's being an idiot

ALL MY TRASH FOR THIS! Both for Steve not being able to deal with it, and the inclusion of Thor!

I think it would be that extra bit worse if it WAS romantic, but hey I wont complain either way.

(OP) Same! I think it would be the worst if they had been together before the war, but now Steve is too confused to keep it going and that just reinforces it for Bucky that he's not worthy to be touched

Truly, that is the most painful of all options. You beautiful, beautiful creature.

While you're waiting, there was a fill on the meme where Steve doesn't get it up with Bucky because he can't help thinking about how others have hurt him etc, cue all the pain and guilt on both sides. I think you'd like it. (I sure did.) Link, anybody? I can't seem to find it rn.
