Oh, god, those last bits - Steve is so fucking noble, I can see him having a hard time *not* expressing anger at Bucky criticizing Natasha during "her" rapes. He's wondering how warped Bucky really is on the inside - maybe he subconsciously gets protective of Natasha around Bucky, like keep putting himself between the two of them when they're all together. And of any kind of censure or hostility from Steve is the absolute last thing Bucky needs right now- which just reinforces the terrible, terrible decision he made with this gambit, the poor traumatized trashlamb that he is.
