(OP anon) THIS IS SO GOOD AND YOU POSTED IT SO FAST. I love Rumlow in this, especially the suggestion that he knows how Steve woke up. Like what reason does he have for wanting to inflict Steve's death on poor Bucky except that Rumlow is a giant douchebag who tortures because he can. I love it, you hit the tone between the two of them just perfectly, Bucky trying to be confident and getting increasingly freaked out. And oh my god Bucky thinking he would lose a fight against Rumlow, that was when I knee this was my trash home, because the Asset could kick Rumlow's ass no problem. Except of course the Asset never would, and baby Bucky is no match against someone with actual training who gets off on hurting people and ugh it's all so hopeless already and no one's even touched Bucky!
