Holy shitballs, look at us go. Welcome to Captain America fandom's resident wretched hive of scum and villainy: ROUND THREE. (Anonymous) 2016-06-30 03:51 am (UTC)(link)1. As mentioned, I love the nails scene even though I couldn't actually read it, but I love that you set this parallel up. That Natasha is going to see what she's doing for Bucky as necessary, but awful, and she's going to see herself as fucked up for being able to do it. That's so sad. Also she HELPS Anna--it's (horribly) a kind action--but she doesn't see herself that way. I love it.
2. I LOVE THE SCENE. Okay, first of all everything that happened was great, AND it has a good pace where you build up well. I LOVE when he has to fuck himself on the chair and she makes him look at her and talk about how he's feeling <33333 the best. I ALSO love everything about her making him choose the dildo size and then making him choose to go up to a bigger size later, AND I love how despite the choices being humiliating she was sneakily being gentle (having him choose, managing it well when he couldn't decide, not giving him the option of going up more than 2 sizes), which brings me to
3. I really love the slight moments of kindness between them--it feels so natural when he wants to be close to her at the end. Without making Natasha act unrealistically gentle or kind, in ways that wouldn't make sense in these circumstances, you made it quietly obvious that she's showing care toward him and he's of course going to relate her a bit differently than his rapists, even if he's getting the same thing. (Well I don't know if you were going for this yet, but *I* liked it.)
4. "She fell for it" and let him lick her fingers--aww.
5. Also heartbreaking when he yelled at her to get off him after he came--so 100% understandable for him, so 100% something she is going to painfully take to heart. I just love it. I love your characterization of both of them and as you write them, they're both such good people and they're hurting so much. I feel so much warmth toward them both.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-11 02:06 am (UTC)(link)As for 1: Yes, I do try to draw parallels (and some might already have been set up but not worked out yet, but it's the parallels that might really mess with their heads.
2: I am so happy that came across! I chose to do it from Bucky's POV because that worked - but yes, while he perceives the choices as humiliating, that IS her way of setting limits (also her ordering to look at her is about her actually wanting to see his expressions, so she can at least partially check up on him) - glad it worked for you!
3: I was going for something similar. I think they both rationally know it's not the same, but they need to feel it, too. The're still on a very fine line of figuring that out.
4:This I actually added last, because I didn't want to do full-on aftercare, but I needed *something* there - and it was meant to be sort of wrong-but-cute, so hey :)
5: Thank you thank you thank you. I really am trying to build up that feeling of warmth (and hopefully, will manage to keep it in for later scenes, that are written, but I still need to knit together somehow).
