OH MAN TY this is such a nice comment! I'm so delighted Sam's awful survival devil's bargain worked, I feel like generally he has in common with Steve that he's not given to subterfuge or compromise, but given the extenuating and intimate circumstances--Sam's also a tactical thinker, and "in bed, already pinned down" would be the single worst time for not!Steve to stop faking Steveness. (& TBH Sam's already registering that not!Steve hasn't been doing a dedicated enough job of Steveness that he's going to stick to it in the face of all inconveniences.)

& I'm glad you liked that line LMFAO rly tho, Rumlow has so much bitterness and thwarted entitlement he's trying
