I love Sam and Steve's focus on Bucky once the obvious priority, Teddy, is taken care of -- and how Bucky can't really process his emotions for them in that moment. Echoing what the other anon said about being saved by parenting vs self-forgetting: Teddy is obviously someone Bucky needs to save himself for, because he can't fall apart with this kid depending on him, but he also risks subordinating his own emotional needs to Teddy's to an unhealthy level. It's an interesting tension and I'm glad he has Steve and Sam there to look after him. What you called it earlier, the woundedness at the center of this, is so emotionally engaging.
Also on that note is Bucky's beautiful insecurity. I particularly enjoyed his "how did they make you from me" thought, like some part of him thinks he's wrong down to the DNA?? god, and the moment he notes the easiness Sam and Steve have with each other that he thinks he's lost. In short, BUCKYYYYY

Well, let's just say, HYDRA did not make this baby because they thought he would be really really cute or the next Captain America.
And, yeah. Steve and Sam are really, really important for the continued functioning of this family even if it looks like Bucky's the one who does all the childcare, because, hooboy. Bucky. Pal.
