WS hallucinates while being wiped
(Anonymous) 2015-08-05 04:00 am (UTC)(link)- Bucky hallucinating pre-war life, but he gets that mixed up with memories of HYDRA rape and punishment, and all his good memories get tainted, and he confuses rape with a good thing.
- HYDRA convincing him they never raped him. What kind of sick fantasies is he having thinking they would ever touch him that way?
- Making him think Steve isn't real, only a hallucination, and that any time he remembers Steve, it's because he's malfunctioning, and it's the worst kind of malfunction. He must report himself for a wipe, or he will become unstable and die or something bad like that.
Bonus for
++ Post TWS aftermath where he's on the run, and Steve is pursuing him, and he thinks he's broken beyond repair because Steve shows up freaking everywhere.
+++ The memories of Steve all start returning, and Bucky tries to hard reset himself with a high power wipe with full knowledge that a full wipe always leaves him vulnerable and shaking for hours. It's not optimal when HYDRA and half the world's intelligence agencies are trying to find him, but he's so desperate to fix himself that it doesn't matter.
