Garbage you should find a different trashcan for: a/b/o, D/s-verse, soulbonds, mundane AUs, OOC evil!good guys doing dirtybadwrong things to your faves, rotting leftovers dressed up as a romantic gourmet meal. Nothing wrong with 'em, but this isn't the crowd you should be pitching to if you're trying to sell Brock Rumlow as anything but a human dumpster fire.

right! basically all the avengers and everyone in their proximity has trauma that could make this shit complicated and painful.

clint, horrified by the idea that (even without aliens) humans are brainwashing each other, just wants bucky to give him space, has no idea he’s “supposed to” order the soldier to eat/drink

nick, who is present for handwavey reasons and genuinely means well but just Does Not Have Time for this

nat, who might find old Red Room memories resurfacing and realise that actually she can’t stand being the handler of someone so much like her

random security guard at Avengers Tower, who is the only person curt and dismissive like a handler while everyone else wants to look after bucky

She gets hired by SI, so she’d be around and probably not too happy to have a potentially unstable Hydra-brainwashed supersoldier looking to her for everything like some sort of disturbed deadly duckling.

I just imagine her telling Steve she has doesn’t have time to deal with the Winter Soldier following her everywhere and someone needs to come get him even if the Soldier has helped identify a few untrustworthy ex-SHIELD applicants...

The Soldier, meanwhile, has determined that Maria Hill is a more appropriate handler than Steve Rogers and keeps turning up in her office or even her private space. She’ll sit down to watch something to decompress and the Winter Soldier will appear. Maybe he can’t sleep without confirmation that she won’t want him in the night.

Damnit. I don’t have time for another project.
