Okay, kids, you know the drill. Don't be a jerk except to fictional characters. Warn if you want, but read at your own risk, because hydratrashmeme is about as far from a safe space as you can get. Garbage we like: noncon, whump, aftermath, violence, mind control, inappropriate uses of Bucky Barnes' metal arm, bad guys doing dirtybadwrong things to your faves. Garbage you should find a different trashcan for: a/b/o, D/s-verse, soulbonds, mundane AUs, OOC evil!good guys doing dirtybadwrong things to your faves, rotting leftovers dressed up as a romantic gourmet meal. Nothing wrong with 'em, but this isn't the crowd you should be pitching to if you're trying to sell Brock Rumlow as anything but a human dumpster fire.

Okay, so, HTP was a daily part of The Asset's life. He is so used to the worst of humanity he can't stop seeing it.
Up to filler if it is Peter or Tony, but after Bucky starts looking at the interactions of the other team, he starts to think someone is being abused. He knows HYDRA used trash parties to break and keep others in line, and he knows how effective it can be for keeping otherwise volatile assets in line. So he is honestly extremely worried for Tony or Peter being abused by Ross and the World Security Council.

And because he knows how horrifying and embarrassing it is for people not in the Asset mentality to have someone acknowledge the rapes and abuse, he keeps trying to ask about it obliquely and subtly. Long distance communication isn't helping matters.

Up to filler if the person Bucky thinks is a fellow survivor is- but I really want Bucky trying to be protective of what he sees as a fellow trash party favor- and creeping the everloving fuck out of the rest of the good guys as a result of miscommunications.

OMG, yes! This can be a Bucky who is completely compos mentis, too--and it's a totally reasonable fear! Hell, if the Secretary of State sanctioned mandatory gangrape, who knows how widespread the practice might be!

Yesss- Exactly. Part of why I imagine he creeps everyone out. What he does explain could make complete sense. He, when he articulates something, sounds scarily reasonable in his logic. He keeps fixating on whoever, hell maybe he is worried about both Peter and Tony. There were enough co-favors to make that scarily likely to him. Use Peter against Tony and Tony against Peter. Peter as the superhuman with a need to protect people, Tony as the elder with a burden of care, and from what Bucky has gleaned Tony always felt like he had to provide for others- the eagerness to please that had him devoting entire floors of his tower to the team, renaming it Avengers Tower, these are not signs that point away from the sort of damage Parties left.

Same thing for Peter, who looks so skinny and frail and combines Steve pre-serum with Super Soldier in a horrible combo pack of things HYDRA would love to tie up and share for a weekend. His drive to help and prove himself is prime fodder for HYDRA recruiting. It all makes complete sense in Bucky's view and from the life experiences he has had.
