Okay, kids, you know the drill. Don't be a jerk except to fictional characters. Warn if you want, but read at your own risk, because hydratrashmeme is about as far from a safe space as you can get. Garbage we like: noncon, whump, aftermath, violence, mind control, inappropriate uses of Bucky Barnes' metal arm, bad guys doing dirtybadwrong things to your faves. Garbage you should find a different trashcan for: a/b/o, D/s-verse, soulbonds, mundane AUs, OOC evil!good guys doing dirtybadwrong things to your faves, rotting leftovers dressed up as a romantic gourmet meal. Nothing wrong with 'em, but this isn't the crowd you should be pitching to if you're trying to sell Brock Rumlow as anything but a human dumpster fire.

So, I saw a scene like this alluded to in a non-trashy fic, and thought that it could work as a fill on its own (with the necessary modifications for the trashmeme).

Post TWS, Steve finds Bucky, or Bucky finds Steve (how is up to you). When they reunite (or an undetermined amount of time afterwards) it becomes obvious that Bucky is on the verge of psychological collapse due to guilt and resurfacing memories of his time as the Asset (whatever specific trash this consists of is up to you, so long as there’s heavy mention of past sexual abuse). It’s clear that he is in immediate danger of harming himself, or has already done so. Whatever sedatives are on hand are rendered essentially useless by Bucky’s enhanced physiology, so that’s not an option to calm him down.

Meanwhile Bucky, pleading for death, is deliriously confessing everything to Steve who now not only has to deal with the immediate danger his friend is in and attempt to offer help/comfort, but also has to manage his own reactions to the newly revealed extent of Bucky’s trash past (this could be from the POV of either).

Some thoughts on where this could take place:
-In a hospital or prison, with Steve at a strapped-down Bucky’s bedside (with the restraints likely worsening Bucky’s mental state).
-In some remote area with only basic field medical available
-Maybe Sam and/or Nat is there as well, or maybe not and they’re completely isolated-depends how much worse you want the situation to be.).

I’d prefer it if Bucky doesn’t kill himself, but otherwise whatever note you find it fitting to end on is fine, whether despairing or tentatively hopeful. Stucky preferred but gen is fine also.
