Can't say that this meme didn't ask for less activity by blatantly telling people to take their ideas elsewhere. Gotta be careful what you wish for.

NA Come on, that's not in any way a victory. It's being told to go somewhere else with the mod's blessing.

Mod was kinder than I would be- then again I am not a mod because I would totally ban IPs.
The people thinking this will kill the Meme here because it is "removing needed diversity" are missing the point- We don't WANT that kind of diversity.

We did just fine trickling along with small fills here and there before- going back to that won't do anything but make every fill a mini party. Slow and steady wins the race- we have an active mod, and a steady cycle of authors. I suspect that while the new meme may go wildly big for a while and be super fast at times, The HTP will continue to do it's thing, specialized in it's niche. It's niche isn't going away anytime soon. It just won't be as fast or flashy as the new meme.

Agreed 100%. I don't really understand getting angry because the meme won't change to be what you want it to be, when it's been that way since the start.

Except that isn't what's going on here? Not with everyone. Some are objecting because certain trash-ish prompts and fills used to be allowed. Like the one where Bucky's brain got completely fried and Steve became his carer. There's horrific trash aftermath that lacks rape, and then there are people asking for mundane AUs. It's not really the same thing.
