Put menthol under the nose to block other smells, like people sometimes do when they’re dealing with dead bodies?

It’d be a really interesting prompt to do with a super-competent WS, like maybe it doesn’t work the first eight times because he managed to count one guy’s heartrate via its vibrations or used touch to memorize another guy’s body hair

That's along the lines of what I thought when I read this too--even if the WS wasn't enhanced, he could still recognize at least some of his rapists by smell and tactile cues if he wanted to identify them, which would make for some good competent WS content if OP wants him fighting back the entire time by trying to figure out a way around whatever precautions his rapists take.

OP would love any or all of these ideas. It would be great to have problem solving on both ends go wrong in a variety of ways. I’d lean toward him trying to fight, or having been minimally compliant before only because he was plotting his rapists’ deaths. Maybe they only get him under control for the parties by telling him they’ll leave him like that if he struggles enough to annoy or embarrass them. Maybe Hydra has to make a rule that no one is supposed to be naked in front of him and no touching. All the terrible mixed feelings from touch deprivation and eventually not even remembering what’s behind the instinct to resist and hate. Any interpretation of the original prompt would be fantastic. If some fills this I will be so grateful.

Also, maybe some early stage of recovery, his partner thinks he’s a little kinky and doesn’t realize he’s trying to stop himself from panicking/lashing out? Some people have issues with mirrors, for example. Bucky trying not to explain why he doesn’t want to have sex at night without all the lights on or reacting badly to tentative suggestions about blindfolds, panicking if his partner stops talking, etc

I had a sudden mental image of a trash party where they just knock him out completely and it’s so boring they quit early. A little resistance might be what they want. WS could try being too compliant at least once, hoping they lose interest. Cue them making it worse again, or thinking they’ve broken him and ending up with a new bunch of dead agents because they tried fucking without precautions again... A trash fire of errors.
