Dumpster #5: We didn't start the trashfire

Welcome to the latest, greatest, scummiest iteration of [community profile] hydratrashmeme. Come on in and please check your sense of shame at the door.

Rules in brief: Don't be a jerk except to fictional characters. Warn if you want, but read at your own risk, because this is emphatically not a safe space. Link your fills on the fill post. Unprompted fills: make a prompt or a header comment and reply to it with the full text. Continuations of fills from earlier rounds: just make sure you link in both places.

What's on-topic: Filthy and perverted twists on all the quality whump served up by Cap: Winter Soldier. Noncon, aftermath, uncomfortably sexualized violence, mind control, inappropriate uses of Bucky Barnes' metal arm, bad guys doing dirtybadwrong things to your faves.
What's off-topic: a/b/o, D/s-verse, soulbonds, mundane AUs, shippy/romanticized noncon, MCU heroes repurposed into OOC or edgydark delivery vehicles for your fave's suffering. If you've got a prompt for one of those burning a hole in your brain, head on over to [community profile] mcu_trash.

Someone who looks up to Cap has to watch him get the trash treatment

Re-post of an unfilled prompt from round 3 (not mine):

Another variant on the "captured and forced to watch" trope. A character who still has a bit of a hero complex about Steve Rogers has to witness him being raped and degraded by their captors, and both of them have to deal with it afterwards. Can be one of the new Avengers recruits like Wanda or Scott Lang, Sharon Carter, an AoS character, a SHIELD agent OC, or even a random civilian. (Sam or Tony would also be an option, but the dynamic isn't quite the same--Sam relates to Steve primarily as a bro and a fellow soldier, and whatever hero complex Tony still has about Steve is full of sibling rivalry daddy issues.)

+ Both of them expecting threats of torture/death/mutilation, neither of them expecting rape, at least not with Steve as the target.

+ They stage a daring escape, with Cap unquestionably the one in command, but he's physically injured and/or mentally still in shock and the other character is a little surprised to realize they have to pick up the slack.

+ Initial awkwardness about offering comfort afterwards--it feels presumptuous, like a kid telling the teacher it's going to be okay, and Steve's reluctant to admit he could use it.

+ Author's choice about whether this is a "take me instead" scenario (in which case all the guilt about the character watching Actual War Hero Steve Rogers take what was meant for them), or whether their captors just highlight the unequal power dynamic by zeroing right in on Steve and treating the other person as not important enough to bother torturing.

Just, like, give me that moment of painful realization that Captain fucking America is human and not invulnerable and could actually use a hand to hold right about now. Coupled with Steve swallowing the hurt and trying his best to hide that exact thing, even though he's just been brutalized in a way he didn't even know was possible, because he hates letting people down and he doesn't want anybody seeing him as weak after what just happened. Just fuck me up, man, just fuck me up.

Original prompter here--omg, I'd forgotten about this prompt! Would still love to see someone take a stab at filling it.

AYRT. It's such a good prompt, and, seriously, it hits so many of my buttons. Had to give it a second chance. I'd write it myself, but I've got other stuff going right now.

Obligatory question for OP or reprompter: Is Steve a virgin?

What if he is, and the POV character isn't? That could be another nice awkward twist in the power dynamic. The realization that when "Actual War Hero Steve Rogers" jumped on that grenade, he was more vulnerable in this one respect than the person he was trying to protect.

Steve being Steve, no doubt he'd deflect if the subject came up, and insist that it still made sense for it to be him. Because physical damage and super-healing and etc. Covering for the extra vulnerability by being even more stubborn and self-sacrificing about the rest. But maybe it's something he could eventually accept some comfort about...?

I am not OP but I am 110% down for Steve being a virgin!

Reprompter, not OP, but I think I'd be more interested in the not-a-virgin angle for this, or at least not leaning too hard on it if he is. The virgin thing just doesn't really do much for me usually (although depending on how it's written, sometimes it can be interesting, like when it's more matter-of-fact than super angsty). But it's not a deal-breaker and if that's where the prompt takes you, I'd be down for it. Anything that contrasts how people see Steve and his actual life/self and turns that on its head is always good. So ... I guess it's down to OP?

OP

I'm up for whatever! I guess really mawkish virginity kink would be a nope, but anything else is good. Reprompter's suggestion of Steve being matter-of-fact about it is intriguing.

My personal read is that if Steve's still a virgin, it's not because he values it for its own sake, more that he wanted to save sex/relationships for an "after the war" that never came. If the rape takes place in the context of a mission, I could see him compartmentalizing it as yet more violence (which he's good at dealing with), and not as anything to do with sex. Which could lead to him being uncannily calm and matter-of-fact in the aftermath, even if he's in a geat deal more shock than he lets on.

Just throwing ideas out--no need to pick them up. Potential fillers, go with whatever you feel like.

I gave it my best shot, with the less common "female villain" take: https://archiveofourown.org/works/20182045
