Bucky misunderstands consensual kink

They keep their voices soft, but not so soft that Bucky can't hear them through the wall. "Please," the girl whimpers. "Oh, please let me." Steve's weight shifts on the bed, changing position, and she chokes back a sob.

"Good toys don't come," Steve says. "You know that." Another wrecked, despairing sound from the girl. "Now, beg me not to let you."

"Please—please, Steve!" Bucky can hear the air punched from her chest as he fucks her. "Please don't—oh god, please—please don't let me come."

"You worthless piece of shit whore," Steve says tenderly. "You're not going to come tonight. Or tomorrow, or next week, or the week after. You're just a hole for me to fuck."

Bucky strokes himself quietly to the sound of her moans. There'd been a skinny blond recruit once who sounded just like that when STRIKE made him the barracks slave. Please don't, please. The Soldier fucked him hard when it was his turn.

Steve is insatiable. "I want your ass tonight," Bucky hears him whisper through the wall. "You're allowed to come, if you can do it from just my cock in your ass. Nothing else." If this snippet wasn’t fun to read, there’s of course no need to follow the story any further—and here’s hoping the next fill is more to your taste! Though I’m generally a fan of suspense, and of the meme as a choose-not-to-warn space, in this instance I don’t think it’s giving away much to say that yes, if I continue this fic it will include scenes of Bucky abusing Sharon. Whether this comes off as OOC nonsense or a hideously understandable response to the particulars of Bucky’s own profound sexual trauma will depend on whether I do a good job. But I’m fairly confident that the moderator isn’t going to impose a prior restraint—that is, I don’t think the story will be deleted or frozen because I might turn out to be a lousy writer. That being the case, please look after yourself and read responsibly!

It's obvious in this that Bucky may "seem" okay, but, like, he has a fundamental break in understanding.
We had a fill that everyone lauded a while back that had Bucky raping Steve in his sleep as a way to help him have no pain during sex... like, ignore the double standards trolls.

I think ...and because it was good when the person suffering wasn't him and ...guards his fuck toy jealously, a prerogative of rank... make it pretty clear that Bucky is not anywhere near okay. How much anyone realizes this, we don’t know yet, but the fill is great so far.

Tbh, I’m potentially more disturbed by Steve in this fic. Does he know how much Bucky can hear? That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with the fic, no matter the explanation. Maybe listening to the other is something from way back when. Maybe he doesn’t know about any of Bucky’s trash past. Maybe Steve doesn’t know Bucky can hear through the wall.

I want to find out, so I hope there will be more.

(A!A) Ooh, interesting question! Depending on how it happened, I think it might confuse/startle him, possibly complicating his understanding of Sharon’s status.

I don’t think he’ll hear Sharon use her safeword, though, because she and Steve know each other well enough for the difference between a no that means “my evening is going swimmingly, do carry on” and a no that means no to be readily apparent. They have a safeword in place, of course, but I’m not sure they’ve ever used it. Also, Steve is definitely a service top here, like his only real kink is making Sharon happy. He sets the tray on the nightstand, his glance almost shy as he bends to kiss her, as if she's not supposed to know how much the cozy, sleepy sight of her turns him on. "Good morning, gorgeous."

She runs a hand through his damp, flower-scented hair, and feels him lean into the caress. He has brought her coffee and grapefruit juice, toast and bacon and scrambled eggs. "Mm," she says, appreciative. "Now it is." He laughs a little, bashful, and straightens up, already stepping back; not wanting to intrude. "How's Bucky?"

As always, the softness of his smile breaks her heart. "Good, I think. He ate a piece of toast, and a banana. He looks like he maybe got some sleep." They'd figured out fast that the Winter Soldier would eat what Steve told him to, even if it made him sick, just as he'd lay in their guest bedroom from ten at night to six in the morning whether he slept a wink or not. He obeyed Steve, and acknowledged no one else, unless they came too close.

"Hey, that's great." Which isn't quite the word, perhaps, for sharing her apartment with the fist of Hydra: Steve's childhood friend is a sad and spectral presence. But loving Steve means loving Bucky too. And she does love Steve, in a headlong, heart-deep way she knows she can't let on too strongly or too soon.

"I was thinking about you this morning," she says, touching the smooth grey lid of her laptop to show him what she means. Adorably, his cheeks turn pink. She feels a reckless urge to lift the covers, invite him back to bed; but of course she doesn't. It's a new day, and Steve's job right now is the same as it always is: to sit beside his silent friend, and talk to him about nothing in particular, and pretend for all he's worth to be undaunted.

"Can't wait to read it." He kisses her again, quick and sweet, and goes back to work.

It's better when he finishes before Steve does, before the girl goes quiet. Not a problem, tonight: Steve has had her twice already, the first time careless and brutal, the second slow and cruel. "Cute," Steve says. "Come on, spread your legs." Through the wall, Bucky hears the brief, thrashing sound of a struggle, then Steve's low groan of pleasure and the girl's broken cry as he forces himself inside her. It's stupid to fight, when Steve is so strong, and so inventively unkind, and she is such a soft and tiny thing. When he takes her place in Steve's bed, he won't make it worse for himself by resisting.

And it's only a matter of time, he knows. Recruits rise in the ranks, winning loyalty and respect, but his status never changes. The girl will earn Steve's favor, or Bucky himself will misstep and be punished: one way or another, it's always his turn again. Resigned as he is, the thought makes him shiver with fear. Steve is the worst sort of master, cold and clever and vicious in his delights. Bucky's suffering, like the girl's, will not be incidental; but required. And he is certain to fail, to displease, he is certain to do it soon, when nothing makes sense anymore. He has tried to be good, but his understanding is broken. The daytime is another country, where people speak a foreign tongue. Only at night, when the violence starts in the next room, are words restored to meaning.

He has tried to be good, when Steve is watching, but when his back is turned Bucky tries other things as well. He steals: a soft towel from the bathroom, bright-colored candy from a bowl, a knife from a kitchen drawer. When Steve decides to hurt him, for a mistake or just because he wants to, Bucky will endure it—but until then, he'll do what he's always done, and take what he can. The crunch of sugar between his teeth, his release to the sound of the girl's cries, the girl herself if he can manage it: he's meant to be a machine, he knows, and indifferent to such small pleasures, but he's not. Not yet, not yet.

He curls in on himself, sated, and clears his mind for sleep. It's better like this, with Steve still using his toy, before Bucky has to hear her shattered silence through the wall; before he can no longer imagine the tight heat of her body, but only the pain settling into her bones as she waits in the dark for another day just like this one. He knows how it feels, to lie there after, refining his ability to hate. He won't hurt her, he thinks, sleep already folding around him, the way Steve does. He's not like Steve; he doesn't need to.
